Riverside Bistro – Lochinver Larder

The Riverside Bistro (Tel: 01571 844356) is a licensed restaurant which serves Highland beef and Venison, fresh seafood straight from the boats and homemade desserts plus award winning pies (these are truly legendary and well worth a try!) The coffee shop serving light lunches, Illy coffee and homemade cakes is open all day with a full menu being served in the evenings. The famous Pie Shop also sells pies and home-made ready meals to take away and heat up at home or eat on the side of a mountain…..whatever you prefer!

The Caberfeidh

The Caberfeidh serves both large and small plates in an atmospheric wood and stone-clad room, with wonderful views overlooking the river mouth and sea loch. The emphasis is on local, seasonal, free range and wild produce, including locally caught fish and shellfish, as well as wild game, free range beef and lamb and they do a mean sticky toffee pudding! Inver Lodge Hotel

The Inver Lodge offers food by Albert Roux who bases his menu on hearty country cooking using the abundance of local seafood available on its doorstep. Excellent bar lunches. The restaurant commands wonderful harbour and sea views and evening meals are c. £45 per head. Tel: 01571 844496


Peet’s provides reasonably priced, locally produced food. There is a wide variety of fresh seafood platters which use fish landed at Lochinver Harbour. Tel: 01571 844085

An Cala Café offers “home-cooked, freshly prepared, good, honest cooking”. It provides breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas and evening meals. Tel: 01571 844598

Albannach Hotel

Open for evening meals – booking essential. There is a single choice menu which champions fresh food and local produce. Whilst expensive, the cuisine is excellent and fully deserving of a Michelin star. Tel: 01571 844407


The Kylesku Hotel

A bit further afield but most definitely worth a visit is the Kylesku Hotel. It's a 30 minute drive away in an absolutely stunning location on the shores of Loch Glendhu and Loch Glencoul. The restaurant is open for bar lunches and evening meals and prides itself on serving high quality, fresh local ingredients, including fresh langoustine, lobster and hand-dived scallops. All served in a fantastic ambience - it’s one or our firm favourites!
